About Whisk Sweets
Whisk Sweets is the creation of Amelia and Clarissa Fong – two sisters who were born in the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong, but raised in the laid-back sensibility of Portlandia. Long before they became bakers, Amelia entertained the idea of becoming a physical therapist, going as far as to obtain her Associate’s as a Physical Therapy Assistant and Bachelor’s in Human Physiology before having a career change of heart. On the flip side, Clarissa always knew she wanted to be a
doctor, lawyer, journalist and obtained her Bachelor’s in Journalism and Master’s in Merchandising before joining the baking bandwagon.
In 2011, Amelia decided that if she was going to be happy with a career, it would have to involve baking. As a pure student of the art, Amelia enrolled in Oregon Culinary Institute and graduated with a degree in Culinary Baking Arts. Today, she spends the majority of her time perfecting her formulas and recipes in her home kitchen. As Whisk Sweets’ Pastry Chef and Master Decorator, Amelia continues to craft custom creations – cakes, cupcakes, macarons and more – for friends and family in honor of life’s great celebrations.
Self-taught and self-trained, Clarissa joins her sister in the kitchen from time to time, often assisting in the decorations and product creations, while managing Whisk Sweets’ social media and online presence as its Business Manager and Creative Director.
If you’ve been with us from the very beginning of our baking adventures (i.e. everyone), then you’ll know it’s been a long time coming to finally reach this major milestone – the official launch of Whisk Sweets!
